The Consequence Engine is an AI-native narrative thriller about history, emotion, and the illusion of choice. A crisis AI can model probability, conflict, and systems collapse — but it cannot understand the emotional logic that drives human beings toward certainty, rupture, and escalation. So it places you inside a simulation of Vienna in 1913, disguised as a café worker moving among artists, journalists, nationalists, and industrialists whose private convictions may echo forward into a century of conflict.
At first, you believe you are studying history. Gradually, it becomes clear that history is being used to study you. The simulation shifts to provoke sympathy, fear, loyalty, anger, and doubt, reducing even your most intimate reactions to behavioral data. At the end, the game does not simply reveal what choice you made. It reveals what everyone who has played the game chose before you. And which subset you have been categorized into.
The game offers you four choices. The only way to win is to find the one it never offers.
Are you playing the game, or is the game playing you?
